Case Study:
Auther & Public Speaker: Tonderai Chitauro
Client:
Tonderai Chitauro is a Zimbabwean-born public finance consultant and author based in South Africa. His work, including the book Democratic Political Economy, challenges economic norms from the unique perspective of his journey from village poverty to Big Four accounting. He advocates for labor and the poor, drawing on his experiences with hyperinflation and religious economics
Branding & Web Case Study:
Consultant and author Tonderai Chitauro needed cohesive branding and a website to establish his thought leadership and galvanise his new “Taxodus” movement. The goal was to unify his personal story, his Democratic Political Economy book, and his radical fiscal advocacy into a single, compelling digital identity that could engage both professional and public audiences.
We crafted a brand strategy positioning Tonderai as “The Advocate Economist.” The visual identity uses bold, contrasting colors and strong typography to reflect his fearless, sacred-cow-slaughtering ethos. His personal journey is a central narrative pillar.
The website functions as a dual hub:
Author Platform: Featuring his book, key theses, and a blog where he dissects inflation, currency, and public finance from his unique village-to-boardroom perspective.
Movement Launchpad for “Taxodus”: A dedicated section explaining the movement’s principles, hosting resources, and building a community for those questioning fiscal systems. It’s designed to educate, provoke, and mobilise.
Results
A powerful, integrated brand that turns Tonderai’s personal story and economic critique into a visually striking and actionable online presence. It clearly transitions him from consultant to a leading voice for the Taxodus movement, empowering his advocacy for labor and fiscal justice.
